Below is an LINK to a killer article from Lizette Alvarez and Michael Wilson in this weekend’s NY Times about some peeps that came up through the NYC projects. They lay out the facts, like that There are more than 400,000 residents in the New York City Housing Authority’s 2,611 buildings and the article spills the facts. Out of the projects came Congressmen (Gary Ackerman, Eliot L. Engel, Gregory W. Meeks) and chief executives: Lloyd C. Blankfein runs Goldman Sachs, Howard Schultz heads up Starbucks, and Ursula M. Burns who was named chief executive of Xerox this month, and will become the first black woman to lead a Fortune 500 company. Jay -Z, Wesley Snipes, Marc Anthony, Mike Tyson, Hector Camacho, and our recent nominee for the Supreme Court Sonia Sotomayor are also among ’em. This great pic is by Nicole Bengiveno for the Times.
