The Heineken Mural Project ATL

Our friends at Heineken & Remezcla are at it again! This is amazing – check out the video above and mira esto:

Earlier this year the Heineken Mural Project blew into Miami and tore the walls off your average art show. This time, the Heineken Mural Project is bringing its mission to the nation’s capital, and the effects will be monumental. (Pun intended.) By partnering with the fourth annual G40 Art Summit, whose theme this year is “art of transformation,” Heineken seeks to integrate itself into Washington, DC’s already bustling scene. Headquartered at the Blind Whino – a dramatic former church completely wrapped inside in out with the colorful works of Hense (Atlanta) and Meggs (Australia) – Heineken will complement the monthlong “multi-experiential” series of exhibitions and events by creating a lounge atmosphere for visitors; cold beverages will be joined by inspiring DJs, adding a soundtrack and a dance beat that will turn The Mural Project into a truly immersive audiovisual experience. What’s more, six celebrity status street artists – Aniekan, Ever, Rubin, Brendan Tierney, Vice Versa, and Lightup – will help to illuminate the Blind Whino space, while four blank walls throughout DC will be activated as canvases for these artists to imbue with color, personality, and their distinctive styles.

Patrons 21 and over are encouraged to visit each mural to enjoy the music and atmosphere, and to aid in the proliferation of DC’s art world. Spontaneous pop-up parties will surprise Heineken lovers at the mural sites and will be announced on Twitter with the hashtag #heinekenmurals. Use the hashtag to express your thoughts, feelings, and experiences as well – at the top of this site a running Twitter feed will share the latest with the world.

Don’t miss the Media and VIP Kickoff event at the Blind Whino this Friday, September 6th, with music by Rock Creek Social Club and a special live performance by Phil Adé!
