Heroic friend of ñ, James Kenney, (who single handedly saved Peter Bogdanovich’s last, lost movie, Squirrels to the Nuts) recently rescued and found Gee Malik Linton‘s original cut of Daughter of God, (originally released under a different name and radically re-edited from the director’s original vision and intention) championing it’s different structure, and James wrote on his site, “reinstated, wholly developed depiction of Dominican life in the Heights, and the restoration of the predominantly Spanish dialogue that was removed or redubbed into English for the Lionsgate release” adding, “perhaps the greatest aspect of Daughter of God that is restored in Linton’s cut is the heart of the film, then-unknown actress Ana De Armas’ performance as Isabel, the troubled protagonist.”
