Not Louder. Not Less. More Precise: Arturo Nuñez on The Culture Compass

The Generation Ñ Podcast

Some conversations feel like catching up with an old friend. Others feel like a masterclass. My talk with Arturo Nuñez was both.

Arturo and I go back a long way, so I was thrilled to sit down with him about his new book, The Culture Compass: Navigate the Corporate World Without Losing Yourself, written with Cecil R. Cross.

For more than three decades, Arturo has been inside some of the most influential organizations on the planet. He was Head of Marketing for Latin America at Apple and Chief Marketing Officer at Nubank, and earlier held senior leadership roles at Nike and the NBA. Today he’s founder and CEO of AIE Creative, advising companies on leadership, branding, and building cultures that become competitive advantages. He also sits on the boards of The Estée Lauder Companies and Abercrombie & Fitch Co.

The Culture Compass distills all of that into a framework for navigating corporate America with clarity and confidence while staying rooted in who you are. It isn’t a book about burning the system down. It’s about seeing it clearly: how power moves, how boardrooms work, how decisions really get made. Once you see it, you move differently. Not louder. Not less. More precise.

That idea will land with anyone who has lived between two worlds, which, for the Generation Ñ familia, is pretty much all of us. We’ve spent our lives code-switching between home and work, Spanish and English, abuela’s kitchen and the conference room. Arturo offers practical skills to make that balance sustainable, so success doesn’t cost you yourself.

Beyond the corner office, Arturo cofounded Black Joy Thrive’s Black Men’s Retreat, serves on the boards of The Anti-Recidivism Coalition and The Nyah Project, and was recently named one of Latin America’s most influential marketing leaders by Advertising Week.

Smart, generous, and real. Dale play.
