Saturday afternoon – Lolo, badass record store owner and visionary miami-cool enchantress – decided to take a photo of her in front of the Luis Santi album El Bigote –
34 Comments and 71 “Likes” later – there were riches in like-minded local vibe-ness. Rich Ulloa – the legend of Yesterday & Today liked it – and Steve Saiz wrote “this album is the shit! miami latin funk descarga” while Andrew Yeomanson AKA DJ Le Spam chimed in “another masterpiece of album cover art by drago fernandez. the jam on this lp is called los filigreses.. funky electric piano getdown..”
This reminded me that gen ñ has never done a story on Drago – who did all the 70s and 80s funky covers – through paste up! – for the Likes of Chirino and Hansel y Raul – Andrew really is the ultimate Miami music authority. In his honor – dig – But in honor of Lolo & Luis Santi & Facebook (which is like being out with all your friends – all the time) here’s Luis himself.
