Kari Barnett from the Sun Sentinel writes about South Florida organizations that are mobilizing to help families affected by the recent earthquakes in Venezuela, with donation drives and relief efforts underway across the region.

Community members can support by donating funds, supplies, or time through verified organizations such as Global Empowerment Mission and United Way Miami. Items being collected include nonperishable food, water, hygiene products, first aid supplies, blankets, tents, batteries, flashlights, and other emergency essentials.

The effort is especially personal for South Florida, home to one of the largest Venezuelan communities in the United States.
