Puerto Rico’s men’s water polo team captured gold at the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, defeating Colombia 16–12 in Santo Domingo.

The Boricua squad pulled away after a close opening half, outscoring Colombia 6–3 across the final two periods. The victory successfully defended Puerto Rico’s regional title from San Salvador 2023 and delivered the delegation’s first gold medal of the Games.

The result adds another proud chapter to Puerto Rico’s water polo history and gives the island early momentum as athletes continue competing across Santo Domingo 2026.
