Olmo follows a 14-year-old Mexican-American teen living in 1979 New Mexico who must choose between caring for his bedridden father and escaping to a neighborhood party with his best friend and crush.

Directed by Mexican filmmaker Fernando Eimbcke, the warm, John Hughes-inspired dramedy places Chicano family life, teenage awkwardness, responsibility, and identity at the center of a universal coming-of-age story.
