Student creativity is central to Norwalk Public Schools’ approach to celebrating Hispanic heritage. In its district announcement, NPS outlined an October 22 festival at Brien McMahon High School built around dance, music, visual arts, theater and spoken word.
The district says more than half of its students identify as Hispanic, giving the celebration a direct connection to the families and cultures represented in its classrooms. The festival’s theme, Unidos, Somos Más—Together, We Are More—emphasized that community connection.
The announcement is a reminder that cultural learning can continue beyond the September 15–October 15 national observance. Student performances and creative work offer ways to connect classroom learning with family history and identity.
This story draws on the district’s published plans for the October 22 event. It does not claim independently confirmed attendance or describe performances as witnessed reporting.
