Josue De Paula has reached the major leagues. The 21-year-old Dominican prospect made his Los Angeles Dodgers debut in a 6–2 victory over the Miami Marlins.
De Paula displayed the patient approach that made him one of baseball’s most closely watched young hitters. He worked deep counts, drew a walk and showed his speed during his first night in the majors.
The Dodgers promoted De Paula directly from Double-A Tulsa while Shohei Ohtani recovers on the injured list. His arrival gives Dominican baseball fans another rising talent to follow during the postseason race.
