Last time we saw Dolores Huerta at the movies she was played by Rosario Dawson – in actor Diego Luna’s 2nd feature film as a director, Ceasar Chavez. Dolores stood side by side with Chavez during his struggles for justice, and now – director Gregory Nava (Selena, El Norte), is making a film with Dolores herself at the center. I once met with Gregory Nava 20 years ago – after el florida/cuba on my back, and was gonna direct something for his company, it didn’t shake out but I still love his movies – that Mi Familia, is something special. Here’s to Hollywood, I guess, and here’s to Dolores, Definitely. – it’s a story people need to know.
