Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz has advanced to the second week of the US Open following a convincing victory over China’s Yibing Wu.

Alcaraz won 6–3, 6–4, 6–1 as he continued rebuilding his competitive rhythm following an injury absence of more than four months. The 23-year-old now enters the decisive phase of the tournament, where he has frequently produced some of his strongest tennis.

His return adds another compelling storyline to the final Grand Slam competition of the season.
