Mexican actor and director Gael García Bernal is bringing Hombre al agua to the 2026 Venice Film Festival. The production is among three Mexican films included in this year’s program and features Puerto Rican entertainer Ricky Martin in a supporting role.

The project connects two prominent Hispanic performers whose careers have reached international audiences across cinema, television, and music.

Their participation also strengthens Latin American representation at a festival traditionally considered an important starting point for the international awards season.
