The rich legacy of Afro-Cuban art is taking center stage in South Florida. The Lowe Art Museum at the University of Miami is hosting two major exhibitions curated by Alejandro de la Fuente that explore more than 200 years of Afro-Cuban artistic expression, identity, and culture. The exhibitions feature works from 43 Afro-Cuban artists spanning the 1820s to today, alongside iconic pieces from the Afrocubanismo movement, including works by Wifredo Lam. Running through September 12, the exhibitions offer a powerful look at the African roots that have helped shape Cuban history and creativity. ✨
